Salary: £18,500

ANNUAL LEAVE: 28 days (including public holidays)

LOCATION: Westbury Avenue, Green Lanes and Roundway. You will be expected to work between all of our nursery sites when cover is needed.

Job Description: 

  • Encouraging learning and development, through play and teaching.
  • Creating a secure environment, using imagination to help children to learn.
  • Working with parents to support their children.
  • Enabling children to build their literacy, language and numeracy skills.
  • Monitoring progress and planning educational games.
  • Putting together activities which will keep the children engaged throughout the day.

  • Helping children to become more independent when carrying out daily tasks.
  • Creating the right balance between activities and down time.

3 years’ experience in childcare essential as well as the desire for progression and must have at least a relevant level 3 childcare qualification.

You will be expected to work between all our nursery sites when cover is needed. 

Job Description:  

  • Support the Manager in maintaining positive links and effectively promote the facility within the local 
  • Effectively communicate information to prospective customers and to provide guidance, support and reassurance to new customers. 
  • To support the implementation of the curriculum in line with the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Ofsted registration and inspection criteria. 
  • Responsible for organising and developing the nursery learning environment and resources in order to facilitate the learning process. 
  • Motivate, be inspirational and support a team of early year’s practitioners in the delivery of best possible practice to meet the needs of parents, children and families. 
  • Support and mentor team members in the skills and behaviours that safeguard and promote good outcomes for children. 
  • Support the Nursery Manager in deploying people and resources efficiently and effectively. 
  • Strive to achieve targets set for improvement of quality of care and education.

(Studying level 3)  

Reporting to: Room Leader  

As an Apprentice/Student/Assistant you are encouraged to work as part of the nursery team to gain as much practical experience as possible throughout the duration of your course. Although you will be welcomed and encouraged to work alongside qualified staff, there are some basic rules that must apply. These are:  

  • Apprentices must never be left alone with children – there must be a qualified member of staff present at all times.  
  • Qualified staff are responsible for all that happens in their nursery and while apprentices are encouraged to participate, they must respect the decision of their supervisor at all times.  

Reports to: Room Leader/Nursery Manager/Deputy Manager 

Job Purpose:  

  • To support qualified staff with daily routines in the nursery. 
  • To learn the skills of a nursery nurse, (on the job), working practically as part of the team. 
  • To learn how to provide high quality childcare to our children. 
  • To show commitment to achieving the apprenticeship in the agreed timeframe. 
  • Demonstrate the HEART principles in everyday working life.  
  • To work in partnership with your assessor.  
  • Understand the importance of keeping everyone safe and the part you play.  
  • To ensure you attend all the training courses and staff meetings as required   
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach using your initiative and showing resilience to take responsibility for getting things done.  
  • To maintain the upkeep of your Practical Training Record.  To learn, understand and implement the Eagle Nursery policies and procedures in and out of the nursery.  
  • To understand the values and principles of the sector and implement in your daily routine with the children      
  • To gain a good understanding of child development and how this is important when caring for children.  
  • To contribute/complete children’s observations and records when required.  
  • Ensure you work as part of a team towards a common goal sharing ideas and feedback to create consistency.   

Apart from the normal College holidays, you will be expected to attend your placement as agreed. If you are unable to attend your placement with Eagle Nursery for any reason, you need to contact the nursery to let them know as soon as possible, giving them time to make alternative arrangements for cover. 

Your pattern of work will be agreed between you, the Director, Nursery Manager/deputy Manager and your Training Provider. 

Your Salary will be: £4.00 – £5.50 (Depending on experience) 

The number of Annual Leave days per year that you will be entitled to, will be agreed upon the start of your placement.
